Who
Are
We
In 2022, Bloomberg Philanthropies and The Sagol Family launched The Bloomberg Sagol Center for City Leadership at Tel Aviv University to strengthen local leadership across Israel. The program aims to help mayors of cities across Israel – north and south, large and small, Jewish- and Arab led – deliver better public services to residents, strengthen social bonds, and deepen ties to the global community of innovative city leaders.
Diversity
Local government in Israel deals with highly diverse populations. To be relevant to all local authorities we must create a space that is both inclusive and neutral. Where representatives of all parts of Israeli society can feel that they belong.
Professional networking
Professionalization in local government is based on mutual learning and a supportive network. The Center offers a broad local and international network of municipal officials, as well as extensive sources of information.
International standards of professionalism
The Center was established jointly by the Sagol Family Foundation and Bloomberg Philanthropies - the world's leading brand in municipal management. Consequently, all our value propositions aim for excellence, top-level professionalism, and optimal precision.
Practical Academy Adapted to the Local Government
The Center established at Tel Aviv University draws its inspiration from the Center operating at Harvard. It produces excellent academic contents with practical applications in the worlds of management and leadership. All intended for implementation in Israel's local government.
