Edit Bar is the CEO of the Bloomberg-Sagol Cener for City Leadership at Tel Aviv University.
Previously, Edit served as the Deputy Director General at the Israeli Ministry of Interior.
Edit established the Municipal Development Administration at the Ministry of Interior and served as its first director since May 2018.
From 2020 to 2021 Edit served as the Chairwoman of the ‘National Planning and Building Committee for Priority Housing Areas’ (VATMAL). Edit was the first woman to serve in this position.
Previously, Edit served as Deputy Director General for Budget and Human Resources at the Israeli Planning Administration, in which she led the detachment of the Administration from the Ministry of the Interior and its reestablishment as an independent unit in the Ministry of Finance.
Previously Edit held various public positions, among them, Senior Adviser to the Minister of Interior and to the Director General of the Ministry of Interior, and Manager of the Small and Medium Business Authority Professional Mentoring Program at the Ministry of Economy.
Edit is an alumna of the prestigious program "Atidim for Public Service" and the "Maoz" leadership program for mid-career managers.
She holds a BA in Business Management and Political Science, and an MA in Business Management, both from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
Edit is married, mother of three. She was born in the southern town Ofakim and currently live in Ramat Gan.
