Yuval joined WHU in 2022 as Chairholder of the Chair of Leadership, Networks, and Organizations. Prior to joining WHU he was a professor of leadership at Coller School of Management, Tel Aviv University, where he also served as Academic Director for Kellogg-Recanati and for the Executive MBA, and as Academic Director of the Leadership and Negotiation programs at Lahav, the executive education program of Tel Aviv University. He completed his Ph.D. (psychology, cum laude) at the University of Melbourne, Post-Doc at the Hebrew University. His research focuses on charisma, leadership and social networks. His research has been published in leading journals, including the Journal of Applied Psychology, Organizational Research Methods, Journal of Organizational Behavior, and Human Resource Management. He received multiple competitive grants and was awarded a six-month fellowship at the Institute of Advanced Studies. Prof. Kalish has worked – and works – as an organizational consultant with companies such as Boeing, ICL, Harvard, Bloomberg philanthropies, Intel, Amdocs, and various governmental offices in Israel and elsewhere. He is also Co-Founder and Chief Scientist at StepAhead, a startup focusing on optimizing collaboration and identifying leadership talent using network analytic algorithms.
